Therefore, please keep in mind, especially with children´s shoes, that scratches or other damage to the surface cannot be repaired and only clean these shoes using a soft cloth.

All leather that have been treated with heat such as Crack (crk) or Atlas (atl) are extremely sensitive to surface damages. Therefore, please avoid exposure to dirt, moisture or direct sunlight and only clean these shoes using a soft cloth.

Soft (sft, wsh) and elegant leathers (ele, ful) as well as Lavato (lav) and washed buffalo (wab) are very delicate and sensitive to moisture or heat due to their lack of material thickness. Sharp objects and edges can damage the leather profoundly. The light colours particularly susceptible to stains. Therefore, please avoid exposure to dirt, moisture or and direct sunlight.

Fur (pny, mon, cap) can mat or be damaged by friction and may wear off. Surface dirt should only be brushed off carefully.
If you notice a thin white layer on the matte buffalo leather (buf), please don´t worry! It is only surplus wax that can be easily removed. This process is even easier if you heat up the shoes for a moment using a hair dryer.

If your Trippen Closed produce a squeaking sound, please use the little package in your shoe box containing a white substance.

It is harmless talcum powder that will stop your shoes from squeaking if sprinkled under the insole.

The soles of most our shoes are made from rubber. Any surface with sharp edges or hot tarmac will damage these soles as well as those made from crepe. If the soles of your Closed or wooden shoes are worn down, please return them in time to have them resoled (prices on demand) as otherwise the shoes can be damaged beyond repair.

Our wood soles have not been varnished. This means the shoes are comfortable to wear, as they absorb sweat and massage your feet when walking.

But it also means that the soles are less resistant to dirt and unpleasant odours cannot be completely rules out. Light dirt may be removed with fine sandpaper. Wood is sensitive to moisture and can crack if dried too quickly. Please do not place your shoes in direct sunlight or on a radiator. Let them dry naturally instead.
