If you notice a thin white layer that looks a bit like mould on your shoes, don´t worry. This is nothing more than surplus wax, which can be easily removed. Either brush your shoes with a soft brush or if you are in a hurry use your hair dryer to carefully heat up the shoes and swipe off the surplus wax.

If your Trippen Closed make a squeaky noise use the little package in your shoe box containing a white substance. It is harmless talcum powder that when sprinkled under the insole, will stop your shoes from squeaking.

The soles of most our shoes are made from rubber. Any surface with sharp edges or hot tarmac will damage these soles as well as those made from crepe. If the soles of the Closed or wooden shoes are worn down, please return them in time to have them resoled as otherwise the shoes can be damaged beyond repair.
Our wood soles are not varnished. This means they are great to wear, they absorb moisture, massage the soles of your feet when walking, and help with the regeneration of the skin. But they are also very sensitive to water, heat and being knocked about. If your shoes get wet please allow them to dry slowly as sudden changes in conditions can crack the wood. To keep your shoes looking good, occasionally give them a careful sanding with sand paper.
