Trippen  I  Suzusan

Suzusan is rooted in the Japanese town of Arimatsu, where the Murase family has practiced the traditional shibori textile technique for over 100 years across five generations.
Shibori, a 400-year-old Japanese craft, involves intricate handwork such as tying, folding, or stitching fabrics before dyeing, resulting in rich gradients, contrasts, and sculptural textures.
Historically used for silk and cotton kimonos, shibori is regarded by Suzusan as a vital cultural heritage.

Hiroyuki Murase, the creative director of Suzusan, is the eldest son of the Murase family.
In 2008, he founded the Suzusan label in Düsseldorf with the intention of placing Japanese handicraft in a contemporary context.
Through innovation and contemporary design, the brand gives this traditional craft renewed relevance and helps sustain its future.

For this collaboration, deeply rooted in tradition yet driven by innovation, we have reinterpreted two unisex Trippen classics, Yen and Tödi.
Suzusan crafted the denim textiles in two beautiful shibori patterns - Gangi and Nemaki.
Piping strips made from our vegetable-tanned leather give the delicate textile a stable frame.
The result is two models with a creative spirit that are at the same time exceptionally refined.
