Our creative direction aims to translate a forward-looking vision of responsibility into avant-garde footwear. This approach results in designs that are not only durable but also timeless.
Timeless Design
Long-term thinking has shaped Trippen’s approach to both design and production from the very beginning, guided by the principle: choose well, buy less. Rather than following seasonal trends, we focus on developing a distinctive design language rooted in sustainability and material innovation.
Our creative direction aims to translate a forward-looking vision of responsibility into avant-garde footwear. This approach results in designs that are not only durable but also timeless—referencing the evolution of fashion while remaining independent of it. Longevity is expressed not just in how long our shoes last, but in their ability to stay relevant over time.
Every new model contributes to our evolving archive of over 1,600 styles, all of which remain available for re-order. The success of this living collection lies in its continued relevance—customers regularly reorder styles introduced 20 years ago, demonstrating the lasting appeal of our designs.
For those seeking a more personal connection, our bespoke Made for You service allows customers to customise their pair by selecting both leather type and sole colour—honouring individual creativity within our design framework.

We are strong advocates of the philosophy:
"choose well, buy less, and make it last."
Care
We are strong advocates of the philosophy "choose well, buy less, and make it last." For us, sustainability also lies in the act of caring. Proper maintenance is essential for preserving the quality and durability of leather shoes, reducing waste, and extending their lifespan.
Trippen shoes are designed to last and can become lifelong companions. With a few simple steps, you can restore their shine and maintain their quality over time.
In a typical year, we repair as many shoes as we sell in the German market.
Repair Service
We believe that a product’s lifespan after purchase is a vital part of the sustainability conversation. That’s why longevity is a central element of our design philosophy. From the outset, we’ve focused on creating shoes that are built to last—both in terms of materials and construction.Durability is embedded in the design itself. Carefully considered patterns and patented soles support disassembly and repair. Soles are stitched rather than glued, increasing the structural integrity of each pair and allowing for complete resoling when worn down.
Thanks to high-quality materials, each pair can be resoled multiple times over its long lifespan.
Our in-house repair workshop, active since day one, offers customers the option to extend the life of their Trippen shoes. In a typical year, we repair as many shoes as we sell in the German market—demonstrating both the durability of our products and our customers' commitment to longevity. Our partners in Japan have also established an authorised repair service, making long-term care accessible beyond our own facilities.

- Do not use plastic packaging – it can trap moisture and cause mould.
- Outside the EU: Label your parcel as "Goods with no commercial value – for repair only – value under 50 EUR."
- Do not mark the parcel as "returned goods" – this causes customs delays and extra costs.
